Can I help you? No, we don't sell pesto sausage, but we do have little weenies.

'tis the season

Looks like something is in the air. The word is, we have a company-wide meeting on Monday, though the official email invite hasn't gone out. The rumor mill has plenty of grist. I'm guessing a new series of layoffs before the end of the year so that the bottom line can be boosted an inch or two. Conveniently, the corporate online meeting schedule is offline.... Merry F*cking ChrismaHannaKwanzaka.

I, for one, would love a nice big severance package, but if it come to that, I think I will be at the bottom of the range since I've been here just under two years.

The gentleman pictured has his own idea of what a nice severance is.

Sending good thoughts my friend. My husband's workplace went through a major bloodletting yesterday. Not pretty.

He made it through, but it is a sort of place with a 24 hour schedule and after 30 years he likes his M-F day hours.

Which makes it sad that he found out yesterday that he will be working tonight, Saturday from 5-11.

Deep sigh.

I start a job on Monday in which my annual salary will be about 1/4 of what my old one was.

That said, I no longer have to dress up like the guy in your illustration.

Hang in there man.

Good luck, Sorghum. No one I know (yet) has been laid off. My division made it's numbers early this year, but we recently went through a merger at a time when merging was probably not a good idea. That said, my division is the unglamorous, steady earner. Hope that matters. Good luck again. I do know a couple of people who were told that they must take a mandatory vacation for the last two weeks or so of this year....without pay. Maybe they are going to do something like that? Wishing you well.
